Founder Suzanne Berman didn’t set out to start a nonprofit. She set out to find the place her daughter Emilie deserved after graduating from Ivymount School. When that place didn’t exist, she built it.
LuxPoshibilities is the answer to the “Service Cliff” — the moment when school ends and structured support, community, and purpose disappear almost overnight for adults with disabilities. Suzanne built the place she wished had existed.

LuxPoshibilities is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit social enterprise — EIN 33-4787333 — serving Montgomery County, Maryland. It combines a premium resale boutique, a community coffee lounge (“The Bean”), and a structured one-year Career Discovery & Internship Program. Our interns learn in full view of the community — on the sales floor, at the coffee bar, and alongside real customers every single day.
After Emilie graduated from high school, she experienced what is known as the service cliff. Overnight, the structure, routine, and purpose she relied on for years disappeared. She woke up with no services, no direction, and no clear idea of who she was going to become.
This is something so many neurodiverse young adults and their families face, yet few talk about. This moment became the beginning of LuxPoshibilities.
What started in our basement with a small collection of high-quality athleisure wear that Emilie loved, quickly grew into something much bigger.
We’re a nonprofit with a passion for style and a purpose rooted in empowerment. Born from a mother-daughter dream, LuxPoshibilities creates meaningful, inclusive employment for young adults with disabilities.
Our neurodiverse team learns hands-on retail and life skills—from styling and inventory management to building confidence and fostering community.
Now, we’re growing from a small online shop into a vibrant storefront and training space where every ability shines and fashion fuels purpose.
The IEP Ends.
The Potential Doesn’t.
“An IEP may end at graduation, but the need for purpose, belonging, friendship, and opportunity continues for a lifetime.”
For years, students have teachers, therapists, classmates, goals, and a place to be every day.
— They have structure.
— They have support.
— They have purpose.
Then graduation happens.
— The IEP ends.
— The bus stops coming.
— The routine disappears.
— The support system changes overnight.
Yet the need for purpose doesn’t end.
The need for friendship doesn’t end.
The need for belonging doesn’t end.
The need for growth, contribution, and opportunity doesn’t end.
For thousands of neurodiverse and disabled adults,
graduation is not the end of the journey —
it is the beginning of a new question:
“What’s next?”
LuxPoshibilities was created to answer that question.
We are building the place we wished already existed — a place where adults can continue learning, discovering their strengths, building confidence, forming friendships, and exploring future career possibilities.
Because an IEP may end at graduation,
But potential doesn’t.
