After finishing my internship at Project SEARCH last year, I want to work at Montgomery College again and I really want to work at Mama Lucia because having a job and getting paid makes me feel good.

After graduation, my son’s world shrunk. He instantly lost his routine and his peer group. He also risked losing valuable skills he had acquired in school. He had to develop a new routine and establish a new purpose.

Sam-Henry and Madeline finally have somewhere that fills that critical gap in services – a place that equips them with valuable skills and confidence while fostering a sense of purpose and belonging. LuxPoshibilities has potential to become a model program for workforce development and community inclusion.

Having a job or career means to me that I get to take on various responsibilities. I get to find a pathway that suits my interests and meets my needs in order for me to be successful in life, whether by getting a good-paying job, a job that requires me to be more interactive with clients or customers, and doing hands-on activities instead of just sitting in the office all day long.

As parents, we spent years preparing for graduation, believing that there would be meaningful opportunities waiting afterward. Unfortunately, that was not our experience.
